Says 173 – Politics and Religion

HarperPope Francis at St Peter'sPolitics and religion are indeed bedfellow. Politicians claim to look after your best interests in your physical life, while religions claim to do so in the afterlife, when you die. Of course, both want something from you for their “services.” Not only do they want your blood, sweat, tears and money; they also want your undying loyalty and devotion to their dogma and cause. As long as the sheeple believe what they, the politicians and religions are selling, they are not only trapped and become slaves to their beliefs, but also controlled by the dictators they admire and adamantly defend, even with their lives.

What bugs me about the Christian bigotry that is going around, is that these same people that bash Muslims or any other religion, when asked to say drop their present Christian faith or CHURCH, and whole heartily adopt another Christian faith or church, they would scream bloody hell, that only their f**king church or faith was the right Christian one.. They are even unloving bigots within their own twisted Christian Religion.

Other religions are similar.. So Christians, don’t get your nickers in a knot.. Or do.. I don’t care..

Says 171 – eBook Publishing Nightmare.

171 - tower bable eBooksI can’t possible begin to share all that has happened, or not happened, since my last blog post. I thought that getting my books out in print was the hard part, but that is a piece of cake to getting my eBooks published. There are numerous problems and issues and the first is that while CreateSpace is a POD publisher, they are mainly associated with Amazon, and hence, are not looked on by brick and mortar stores as someone to deal with. To get my books into the brick and mortar stores, I need to deal with IngramSpark, and that means a new account, different rules and procedures. So besides this “war” going on in the print book business, it’s also going on in the eBook business and is even more complicated.

But, there is more. Amazon is mainly interested in electronic sales of eBooks, and so eBooks that are sold though Amazon, need to be in either the Kindle or Mobi (both proprietary) formats. Trouble is that while Amazon has over 1/3 the eBook sales, they don’t distribute any eBooks in other formats like ePub, or iBook. So to get my books distributed, I also have to get another distributor like Smashwords of Bookbaby. Of course, all this means that now I need to edit my print books to make them available to all these different eBook formats like, KF8 ( Amazon Kindle) Mobi, ePub, iBook (Apple) LIT, ODF, PDF, HTML. So while my revised print book looks good in a ePub, it’s a mess in Kindle or other formats.

But there’s more… Every eBook needs to have its own ISBN number and each distributor has different rules for metadata, categories, sub-categories, keywords and tags. Also, each distributor has their own marketing plans and programs that you have to investigate before jumping on-board. To say this experience is frustrating, is putting it mildly.

Says 170 – I’m back – kind of, sort of, maybe. :) !

170 - cartoon-man peeps-out-trap-doorI can’t believe that on Dec. 03, it will be a years since my car accident. This summer, not summer, this year, has been a washout, as I’m still going to my Chiropractor and getting massage treatments, while doing my own physiotherapy to expand my range of motion and strength. And while they are helping, it’s been a slow process. I’m still only able to do maybe 25% of what I could do before the accident, and most of it has to do with my whiplash injury that not only affects my neck, but also my back, arms and legs. Moving either my arms or legs in a who knows what manner, will trigger my neck, which then affects the rest of my body. Even walking is limited to a few blocks at most. Besides that, I still have my constant dull headache that doesn’t help the situation. On top of my physical issues, I’m also trying to get my books published in eBook formats and that is turning out to be a nightmare. So while I say, I’m back, that may be short lived, but it is my intent to resume blogging, as I feel it’s time to reconnect.
